You Ought to Believe...

Then He spoke a parable to them, that men always ought to pray and not lose heart... Luke 18:1 (New King James Version)

You ought to believe that it is real;

That your prayers are heard by the big ears of God once you utter them;

That as spooky as it sounds, God is listening and angels are attending to your petitions.

You ought to believe that as the words leave your lips they become live arrows darting purposefully till they each hit their targets.

You ought to believe that even at those times when it seemed your requests fell on cold-stone-dead ears that it was still gonna work... it was still gonna because even then, God heard.

God heard, even when nothing made sense and your cries were almost a constant.

God heard.

You ought to believe that people pray because there is a God who answers.

Men would have given up centuries ago if prayers never worked.

They would have dismissed the Almighty as a phantom, a 'high' for the poor who needed something to hook up to, some false reality with which to engage an idle mind...

But Men have been calling on God since the days of Seth

Men are still calling on God today

Tomorrow, even more voices will be raised in prayer to God...

Because there is a God to answer.

Especially when you do not feel like it.
