I am tempted with distractions, Lord
Distractions from career, family, friends, even service to you....
So many dependent people to reach out to
So many genuine chores to carry out
So many duty-bound places to go to
So many real challenges to face...
So many sensible distractions dear Jesus...
But right now Lord,
Right here, right away
Like Mary
I will sit
At your feet
I will listen
For Your voice
My soul will wait
My heart will be patient
My mind will stall...
Until I hear what You will say
For You will speak peace... renewal...
freedom... change... joy... urgency... life....
Speak to me Lord
Speak dear God
Oh speak and make me listen
Speak so I can live again.
