Light Rain

"...Also you shall purposely pull out for her some stalks [of grain] from the sheaves and leave them so that she may collect them, and do not rebuke her.”
Ruth 2:1 (The Amplified Bible)

After a farmer is done sowing, he waits for the rain.

There are different types of rain but the farmer longs for that which will sufficiently water his seeds without destroying it.

Sometimes we're like the farmer; expecting a big breakthrough to set us off at a tangent so great we can't fully imagine the height of it all.

Sometimes the rain delays, there seems to be some drought.

A little Sun is great, some more Sun okay...

But too much Sun.... and the seeds may die in the ground.

So you're praying; "Father if it be Thy Will, let this cup pass..."

But the cup doesn't pass

The drought doesn't end

The rain doesn't come...

Then one evening, though the clouds still be bright, Heaven releases Showers.

Showers....

It is not much, not enough, not heavy...

But enough to make you believe again.

It is a foretaste of what is to come if we do not faint.

It is the Angel strengthening Christ at Gethsemane - not preventing him from going through to the Cross but encouraging him to go on... to focus on the Joy set before him.

It is Boaz intentionally leaving grains behind for Ruth to gather easily. This young widow who forsook mother, father and tribe to pursue a new kingdom, a divine nudge only her heart could reason...

Ruth's greater blessing was to be her eventual marriage to Boaz and her conception of the son whose posterity would birth the Messiah... but as she walked on, with almost nothing to show for the dream in her heart, Yahweh dropped small favours along her way. Her general living conditions were still unfavourable , but God found a way to show her that He was still by her side.

And so the bible says 'though the Vision tarries, wait for it, for it shall not tarry...'

Child of God, the light rains will come to strengthen your faith, to remind you that you're not forgotten, that God is still faithful...

Look around you, think about it.

Despite what you have been through or are still going through, you can see God's hand upon your life in little clumps of evidence gathered here and there...

The light rain is not just for now

It is a pointer that the Greater blessing will come too

If you do not faint

Just Live One More Day.
